I just got back from seeing Puccini's "Madame Butterfly" it was incredible. I had tears in my eyes when adina nitescu sang the last aria in the opera.

Thank you to my grandparents who bought me and my mom orchestra seats at the four seasons COC opera house.

David Pomeroy did an absolutely stunning job of singing the part of Pinkerton. If one day I could sing with him, I think I would forever be a happy girl haha. One of the more beautiful tenor voices i've ever heard.

halloween

I always get so excited for halloween. My favourite time of year..everything seems so magical and even the impossible seems possible.

i'm really sad and dissapointed that this year wasn't that much fun. Next year i'll be 20 and will be going OUT of my way to have an amazing time. maybe i'll have a costume party..or just go to a club/bar. Which i should have this year.

anyways.. just my thoughts of today.

whereas with a regular blog. I can sit here in my raggedy torn up pajamas with my hair thrown up in a bun, no makeup accompanied by a face mask.

Hey everyone.. Just found out that I did NOT make it into the top 16 for the vj search. I'm really dissapointed and a little heartbroken, but what can ya do right. So life goes on, maybe next time i'll try again.

Just started the hours of cooking that will be taking place today! Got the turkey stuffed and on the bbq, just have to make the apple crisp, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, yams, veggies, etc. haha.

no big deal, just 4 hours of cooking almost!

my latest creation

I was bored last night and decided to make something new for dinner, I thought it would be more fun to just experiment and make up my own recipe and well it turned out amazingly so I thought i'd share the recipe for anyone interested!

it's honestly so delicious.

Ingredients:
-4 boneless chicken breasts (cut into 1/4 inch slices)
-1/4 cup ranch dressing
-1/4 cup caesar dressing
(I use a low-fat yogurt dressing called "Wellness," however regular dressing can be used)
-1/2 cup grated marbled cheese
-1/4 cup parmesan cheese
-1 cup of brocolli flowerettes
-1 to 2 cloves of garlic minced
-pepper and salt to taste
-1/4 cup white wine

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees farenheit, place the chicken slices in a square baking dish. Pour the ranch dressing, caesar dressing and white wine onto the chicken then stir till all the chicken is covered in the mixture.
Sprinkle the garlic ontop, then the parmesan.
Sprinkle a small amount of salt on the chicken with a generous amount of pepper (don't overdoe it though)
Bake for 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and mix the brocolli in with the chicken.
The spread the marbled cheese over the chicken.
And continue to bake the dish for another 20 minutes.
Serve Hot.

had a good day today :) long but good. had opera from 2-3 then music theory/rudiments from 4:30-6. had a delicious sushi lunch at sushi on bloor. I highly reccommend it, good prices and delicious food. just off of spadina and bathurst.

ran into a few friends whom I haven't seen in a while (some since highschool) in the train station that was pretty cool.

I'm currently learning two new german songs "lied der mignon" and "An die Musik" both by shubert. They're beautiful so i'm stoked to work on them.

I'm really not pleased with the temperature these days. I took out my winter jacket for the first time in 5 months :( winter's on its way.

rock&roll part 2&3

finished my tryptic today! :D 16 hours of painting and i've finally completed it. I'm really happy with how it turned out. Going to be a great addition to my ever growing portfolio :)

on a side note, the vj search is on a bit of a lull. As far as I know I find out if I made it into the final 16, on october 12th.

I video taped myself painting the three paintings so currently i'm editing all of the clips into a video of the paintings fast forwarded, I think it'll look really cool. I'll post it here and on youtube when i'm done :)

rock&roll part 1

Today I took the time and dedicated it to a current commission i'm doing for my sister and her boyfriend. It's a Rock&Roll Legends tryptec. I completed the first painting, and it was of Stevie Ray Vaughn and i'm really proud of it. Only took me 6 1/2 hours! normally it would take me around 10 hours to do something like this, so i'm pretty happy with it for the time I spend on it. The next two will be one of Eric Clapton and Jimmy Hendrix.

I'm hoping to tackle the second one tomorrow along with getting some serious opera and piano practice in. I've been slacking this week. However I can proudly say I got all of my theory homework done and some. So i'm ahead of the game in that aspect! Spent the weekend on the boat in such beautiful weather except for at night. It's entirely too cold for early september..guess fall is here. Good excuse to pull out the leather boots and tights though! :D

Michael Jacksons Tribute first on the list! going to be an emotional one! Madonna just carried out such a wonderfully powe speech. no doubt everyone teared up at that moment. Janet is absolutely ROCKING this! RIP Michael Jackson, you The King will never be forgotten.

Russel Brand doing an absolute hilarious job at hosting the VMAs, honestly so funny. SO out there. He definately doesn't censor ANYTHING he says!
Taylor lautner and Shakira present best female video, can't get over how cute taylor is, and how amazing shakira looks! EVEN if her and P!NK are wearing the same dress. I think they both pull it off spectacularily.
Taylor Swift won best female video of the year! congrats Taylor :) if only kanye hadn't run on stage, stolen the mic from her during her acceptance speech and said that Beyonce had the best video. Poor girl, her first VMAs, she gets an award, and not even half way through kanye does that. Atleast Beyonce looked shocked.

so I decided that while watching the redcarpet show I wanted to write a little bit about it. Whether anyone else is interested then maybe they'd like to read this. Otherwise it's for my own entertainment!

so far i've seen lady gaga wearing a ridiculous "outfit"...consisting of a masquerade mask and lots of black feathers... not sure how she's moving in that costume...I'd like to say that it's fashion forward...but I think it's a bit more forward than fashion..
Adding to all of that there was a kermit the frog skit with gaga...kermit got some kissesssss. speaking of fashion, what on earth was JLO wearing? dress would have been gorgeous without the overdone silk cami top thing. and hair and shoes. oh god can't even comment.

long way to go

officially sent in my audition for the much music vj search 2.0 last night! It's all I can do to keep from jumping up and down in excitement for this. Everytime I turn the channel to much music my heart flutters a little and I hope to god that one day I'm up there on MOD as a VJ.

I just want to thank everyone who has supported me so far and helped me with my video and spreading the word. There's still alot left to do! for the next month atleast i'll continue updating my youtube with more videos of myself and I think i'm going to get my twitter going. Can't wait to have my first tweet! haha.

Had such a good day today, and best part is I got alot done for my video :D I went bridge jumping today which was so much fun haha, I haven't done it since I was like 10 years old. I also did this really cool medley (I think ) of a Mozart song and Love song by Sara Bareilles. Sort of a classical&pop blend.

In regards to my VJ mission i've had 278 people join my group :O So amazing, I also have something like 56 wall posts all of such unreal comments from my friends. I love you guys, the support I'm getting from all of you is so great, makes me feel really lucky to have such good friends.
I'll hopefully have my video done and edited by tomorrow night or monday then i'll upload it here and on youtube! then tuesday I send in my submission to much music! couldn't be more excited! :D

island.

Toronto Island is honestly the most beautiful place. Sitting here watching the sunset is the best way to spend an evening of relaxation.

Besides that I did a painting today and in the process was able to get some filming done for my video submission for the Much Music VJ search! Thank god, I still have so much left to do for the video and I only have 4 days. So it's going to be a very busy weekend! Thankfully it's been absolutely beautiful out all week and it's looking like it's going to be just as nice as a weekend. So i'm excited to spend most of it on the island and in the city.

unfortunately I am still so sore from wakeboarding, wow is that hard to do. I snowboard and I thought i'd be able to handle wakeboarding. BOY was I wrong. Almost got up though :) I'm not going to give up though, i'm determind to get the hang of it next time!

In terms of my MMVJ search facebook group I am so excited to say that everytime I check it the numbers get bigger and more and more of my friends are leaving such great comments :)

WOW 240 people have joined my facebook group!! UNREAL. I am so so thrilled to have such amazing support from everybody. I just wanted to pop in, leave a msg saying thanks again to everyone :D Can't even say how much I appreciate everything. I'm super busy and I really hurt my hand wakeboarding yesterday (well attempting to) so it really hurts to type haha so I'm cutting this message short, so once again thanks guys! You're all wonderful :D

UNREAL

I am blown away at this point to say that in just over 24 hours over 190 people have joined my facebook group and over 40 have left wonderful sincere comments about me. I really couldn't ask for better friends and supporters. However, I'm still running around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to figure out what to do next and how to get my video to come together! I really want to get myself out there and show much music what a great VJ i'd be. On such limited time i'm trying to do my best so we'll see what happens! I also don't want to get my hopes up too high, so i'm trying to relax and just get some legit opera practising in and some painting. Once again Thank you to EVERYONE for helping me out here.

Coming together.....sort of.

So I'm onto my third day of working on everything to enter a submission to much music for the next VJ search! I'd like to think that everything is coming together, then I remember that the submissions go in on tuesday and I still have ALOT to do. Such as filming my video and putting everything together, which will be difficult because the only video editing program I have is windows movie maker....not to mention I've never edited a real video before like this. So we'll see how it goes. However I have amazing friends who are supporting me so so much with all of this. Not only have I had a ton of offers to help with my video but people are joining my group, putting in their two cents about me and checking out my youtube channel and my blog here! I tried to upload a sort of promo vid for me and the whole search onto youtube, but it kept screwing up so I might try changing the format and see if that's the problem.

Other than that, I'm headed down to Toronto Island tonight to sailboat race and then get some filming in for my video. I'm planning on putting some pretty wicked things into this baby!

Day Two

I'm onto the second day of my mission to become Much Musics next VJ!

So far i've gotten this blog started, updated my youtube channel and have started a huge facebook group, which hopefully is growing by the minute....hopefully. I'm working on my letter and have been brainstorming since last night and started again this morning at around 5 am. Thanks to the fact that I couldn't sleep due to excitement haha.

starting today i'm going to do a bunch of recordings on youtube, talk about why I want to be a VJ, basically talk about myself and just get myself out there. so please subscribe make comments, anything helps!

New and Exciting

So today whilst watching much music, the farewell episode to Leah infact, I learned that much music is searching for their next VJ!
Since I was about 12 i've wanted to be a VJ, I never thought i'd get the opportunity to even audition for it. Well today I decided to put all fears and insecurities aside (the few I have) and get going on my video and letter, that on Tuesday September 8th at 5 pm I will be submitting to Much Music, to become their next VJ.
So many emotions are running through my mind that if I hadn't created this blog or talked to some of my best friends today I might be going a bit crazy. I'm nervous, excited and exhilarated. As I was researching tips and suggestions for applying for this unreal position, I heard that Much Music wanted to see applicants' Myspace pages, Facebooks, youtube channels, twitters and blogs, anything involved in media that you have. Well to my dismay I deleted my myspace a few months ago! I'd been meaning to start a blog so this whole thing has gotten me inspired to actually do it. So here I start my journey!
At this moment I'm brainstorming ideas for my video and working on my letter, that I have less than one WEEK to complete! I am F-R-E-A-K-ing out! so much to do...so little time.
